interlift 2025: The world's leading tradefair is in the starting blocks
From 14 to 17 October, interlift will be held at the Messe Nürnberg for the first time, making Nuremberg the new lift city. Preparations are currently underway for the international trade fair for the lift industry, which is recording further growth this year.

Chairman of VFA-Interlift, gives an outlook on Interlift 2025: “For the first time, the world's leading trade fair for lift technology will take place in the Franconian metropolis – seamlessly continuing its longstanding success story. With over 500 national and international exhibitors, Nuremberg will become the new Lift City for four days. In 2025, visitors can expect to see numerous New Products from the world of lift technology: from technological components and forward-looking system solutions to digital applications.”
Facts and figures about interlift 2025
Over 500 exhibitors from 39 countries will be attending interlift 2025. interlift occupies around 50,000 square metres in six halls at the
Nuremberg Exhibition Centre and is connected via both large entrance areas – NCC Ost and NCC Mitte. This creates an ideal circular route for visitors to the world's leading trade fair. The managing directors of trade fair organiser AFAG, Henning and Thilo Könicke, are delighted to welcome the industry to Nuremberg for the first time: “With its expansion in terms of space and exciting developments in content, this year's trade fair sets a milestone. The new location enables further growth and modern presentation opportunities – ideal conditions for intensive exchange, inspiration and new partnerships. There is already a high level of visitor interest in the run-up to the event, and the industry is eagerly awaiting the new home of interlift.”
The big names in the industry will be present in Nuremberg. These include Fermator, Meiller, Montanari, Orona, Wittur and many others, as well as Schmitt+Sohn for the first time. Around 75 per cent of exhibitors come from abroad, underlining the international nature of the event. All the major industry associations and organisations are also present in Nuremberg and are taking advantage of the opportunities offered by interlift. Thanks to joint participations from Italy, China and India, smaller international exhibitors can also make a successful presentation at the trade fair. Most of the companies come from Germany, China, Italy, Turkey, India, Greece and the United Kingdom. But there are also exhibitors from Spain, which is represented by more exhibitors than in previous years.
Trend topics in the industry and robotics presentation
Current industry trends that will be the focus of interlift 2025 include topics such as cyber security, energy efficiency, sustainability, digitalisation and innovations in the field of home lifts. Exhibitors at interlift will present numerous offerings related to current industry trends in Nuremberg. Under the title “Elevating Robotics”, interlift will host its first presentation on automated logistics for vertically distributed production environments – inspired by RoboCup@Work. The robOTTO team from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, together with EduArt Robotik and Schmitt+Sohn Aufzüge, will present mobile robot systems for industrial use at interlift. Robotic assistants are already taking on physically demanding tasks in manufacturing and are an integral part of modern production and logistics processes. robOTTO and EduArt will present robot models that were originally developed for international RoboCup competitions. In the future, these systems are to be used on several levels and will also be able to interact with lift systems.
Knowledge transfer in the VFA-Forum interlift
The VFA-Forum offers high-calibre presentations on all days of the interlift trade fair and is organised by VFA-Interlift, the professional sponsor of interlift. The central theme of the forum in 2025 will continue to be digitalisation: from artificial intelligence and cyber security to smart services, the programme offers a wide range of perspectives on digital innovations. Other focal points include new products, sustainable modernisation, international standards and regulatory requirements. During the four days of the trade fair, forum visitors can attend a wide variety of themed presentations in the forum free of charge. The presentations will be held in English or German, with simultaneous translation into German or English.
Nuremberg is Liftcity for the first time
Nuremberg is known for its rich history, medieval old town and, last but not least, its world-famous Christmas market. At the same time, Nuremberg is a modern trade fair location with high international relevance. A wide range of hotels and restaurants ensure a pleasant stay. The city is a central transport hub in Europe and has an efficient infrastructure. The exhibition centre Messe Nürnberg is quick and easy to reach via the European motorway network, rail transport and the international airport ‘Airport Nürnberg’ (NUE). Turkish Airlines, as the official airline of interlift 2025, offers special discounts to all exhibitors and visitors to the trade fair.
