Augsburg –  On 3rd February the starting pistol went off for the worldwide promotion tour for the interlift 2011. At the International Elevator and Escalator Expo in Mumbai the interlift organiser AFAG, together with the professional sponsor VFA-Interlift began promotion for the interlift 2011 – the 10th interlift to take place in Augsburg! The rewarding result: a number of well-known Indian exhibitors are showing great interest in participating at the interlift. In fact one is already considering participation with over 100 m², most unusual at this early date. The next dates are in April in Langfang (China), in August it will be Sao Paulo (Brazil) and finally in September 2010, to the NAEC Convention in Cincinatti, USA.

Review: interlift 2009 stood up to the global crisis

The general conditions for the interlift 09 were extremely difficult – which made these results an even bigger surprise: In spite of the global crisis the surface area of exhibition space grew by 2,000 m² to 42,000 m². Even the record visitors’ figures of 2007 were nearly achieved: Around 18,200 guests coming from more than 60 countries had come to Augsburg, in order to gain information about novelties and trends in the international elevator market. Even more impressive than the excellent benchmarks was the general atmosphere at the trade fair, which made Achim Hütter, President of the VFA-Interlift say the following: “I am impressed by the extraordinarily positive general atmosphere at the interlift 2009 and am very happy to perceive the very, very high level of satisfaction of all participants. In view of the present economic background this is much more than we could expect, and it makes me very optimistic towards the next interlift”.

Business as usual: Successful exhibitors, high-carat visitors

These positive impressions are also confirmed through the results of the representative survey of exhibitors through the Consultant for Trade Fairs and Congresses Herbert Dirr, Hamburg. The very good results from two years ago were all but attained: 67 % of the 477 exhibitors assessed their participation as “very good” or “good”, and 26 % as “satisfactory”. The visitors also gave best marks: 90 % of the guests gave the overall assessment of “very good” and “good”, whereby 88 % consider the interlift to be the worldwide leading trade fair for the elevator industry. 77 % of them are involved in decision-making. And more and more of the visitors are now only coming to Augsburg to gain information about the novelties and trends of their sector. In fact, 76 % visit no other elevator trade fair than the interlift.

Successful VFA Forum presents the latest from research and technology

The VFA Forum was considered to have been a great success by Dipl.-Ing. (TU) Undine Stricker-Berghoff CEng MEI VDI, General Manager of the VFA-Interlift e.V. and President of the Programme Committee, together with Obering. Dipl.-Ing. Werner A. Boehm of ProdCon as the moderator of the forum at last year’s interlift. Among the numerous guests, who attended the over 50 lectures over the four trade fair days, both interested exhibitors and visitors could be found. Work is already under way on the concept for the VFA Forum 2011, and it has already been decided to focus more strongly on the target group of architects and planners.

interlift 2011:  10th interlift in Augsburg will be a new highlight

The interlift 2011 is the 10th interlift in Augsburg. From a compact exhibition with around 100 exhibitors it has developed, growing continuously to become the worldwide leading trade fair for the elevator industry with around 500 exhibitors and an exhibition area of over 40,000 m². On the occasion of the jubilee there is a special bonus for the exhibitors at the interlift 2011: We are not raising the prices for corner, row and block stands.
